Soaring Heart's mattress toppers were designed with our own mattress supports in mind, but will work wonderfully on any standard size mattress, instantly making an old bed feel like new again. When we say all natural and organic, we mean it. Since 1982 Soaring Heart Natural Bed Company has been making mattresses and bedding using time-tested techniques, honed and polished over three decades. Soaring Heart makes everything by hand and uses only the highest quality, certified organic, materials available.  No Soaring Heart product has any chemical-based foam or synthetic fire retardants whatsoever.

The wool and cotton encasements in this product are GOTS certified.

Use an All Natural Mattress Pad For Prevention

To prevent body moisture from getting into your bed (which can prematurely compress and harden the natural fibers and make your bed lumpy and uncomfortable), always sleep with one of our all natural organic cotton pads . Don't use a poly-blend pad. They aren't absorbent and can cause you to perspire more during sleep. Wash and dry your natural mattress pad with your sheets. Make sure the pad is completely dry before putting it back on your bed, and your mattress will stay clean and healthy for years to come.

Flip & Rotate

Mattress toppers are designed to be fluffy and soft and therefore are susceptible to compression. Flip your mattress topper every other week (whenever you change your sheets) for long lasting comfort.

Give Your Bed a Sun Bath

A couple times a year, on a sunny day, put your futon, shikibuton, or topper outside in the sun for an hour or two on each side. It's like giving your bed a natural dry-cleaning. The sun fluffs and revitalizes the fibers, discourages microbial growth, and evaporates any residual moisture. Does not apply to latex - latex can be deteriorated by sunlight.

● Woven in New Hampshire by a company with a rich tradition in textiles, going back to the 1960’s. Although made on power looms, much of this work is done by hand with loving care. Every piece is inspected before sewing, and then again after the sewing process and again before it is packed for shipping.

Our wool cushions are great for extra seating or floor cushions. Try one as a meditation pillow. We stitch together remnants of our wool moisture barrier to create a paneled-style fabric. Generally the  panels are between 5"-9" wide, giving it a smooth, pieced look. Each cushion is filled with all-natural wool batting and hand tufted for quilted comfort. The cushions are filled to a firm feel. This product efficiently utilizes materials left over from the production of our larger items, in keeping with our zero-waste philosophy.

This product ships in a sturdy cardboard box secured with paper tape. We don't use plastic wrap or synthetic packing materials in the box. If you'd like a little extra protection, you can request your product be placed inside a biodegradable bag before boxing.

Designed and handcrafted for comfort, warmth and coziness, our certified organic quilted comforters are made from GOTS-certified wool encased in 300 TC GOTS-certified organic cotton sateen. These comforters naturally regulate body temperature, ensuring a restful sleep in any season.

The crib size comforters are quilted with an adorable sheep design to stay durable and safe for little ones. The rest of the sizes are hand-tufted and stitched around the perimeter so the wool batting stays in place. Our wool comforters also feature corner ties for securing into your duvet cover.

We offer three basic weights:

Light - Our lightest weight option. Well-suited for those living in warm climates or who naturally run warm in body temperature.

Perfect - Our most popular weight, a great all-purpose choice. You can add a blanket in the cooler months as needed.

Extra - For those whose body temperature tends to run cool or who live in a cold climate. If you traditionally sleep with a lot of covers, this is the option for you.

Specifications

This product ships in a sturdy cardboard box secured with paper tape. We don't use plastic wrap or synthetic packing materials in the box.

Care

Sunning your comforter periodically will keep it refreshed and revitalize the wool. Spot clean as needed. Treat stains by soaking area with hydrogen peroxide (note, this may cause lightening of fabric). Can be machined washed in cold water. Manually set to soak and spin cycles only. Do not use the wash cycle, which agitates and can ruin your comforter. For stained items, add a dose of live cultured enzymes (such as Bac-Out by Biokleen) during soak. Drape in the sun or warm place to dry. Do not wring or machine dry. Our comforter care video will guide you through a few simple steps that will keep your wool bedding feeling soft and cozy for years to come. Place in a washable duvet cover for extra protection.

The scent of wool - Our wool, both natural and organic, is cleaned and processed naturally without the use of harsh chemicals. That's why you may notice the mild sweet scent of sunny farm pastures when you receive your new wool product. The wool retains 1% of the naturally occurring lanolin oil, which helps condition the fibers and keep them fluffy and soft for years to come. Most customers find the scent dissipates within a few days.
