Empress Silk has been designing and manufacturing exclusive and luxurious silk bed linens since its’ 1991 founding in NYC by a Fashion Institute of Technology graduate. With its’ focus on pure silk, Empress Silk incorporates only the highest quality standards and finest long-yarn mulberry silk into pure silk comforters, pillows, blankets and bed linens. Empress Silk also innovated silk and cotton blended fabrics, incorporated specialized silk weaves into bed linens and first to offer an exclusively designed washable silk comforter.
Empress Silk bed basics are the foundation of a comfortable bed and include classic pure silk comforters and pure silk pillows. Warm and cozy blankets and throws are available in silk or bamboo. Their pure silk lounge wear is an Empress Home exclusive design.
With a small amount of special care your silk bedding can offer years of pleasure. Please refer to the individual product care label and the following for additional suggestions:
Hand Wash: All Empress Silk duvet covers, sheets, pillowcases and apparel are washable. The preferred method is hand laundered in lukewarm water with pH neutral soap using a gentle hand movement.
Empress Home does not recommend Woolite for silk. They suggest Charlie's Soap or a similar pH netural, silk friendly soap.
Do not soak too long. Rinse in cool water and roll silk in a towel to remove excess water. Never wring water from silk.
Machine Wash: Larger items can be machine washed. Wash in cold water with pH neutral soap, no bleach, on a gentle cycle. Wash silk separate from other items and do not overload washer to avoid any unnecessary wear to the fabric. Silk dries quickly. Tumble dry on very low heat for a short time only if necessary.
Dry Clean: Pure Silk comforters, silk blankets and throws are dry clean only.
Ironing: Silk has a resistance to creasing or wrinkling, most will smooth out naturally. If ironing should become necessary, press the damp silk on the reverse side with an iron set on low. Silk charmeuse (satin) requires a cool iron to bring back sheen.
Note: These are general care guidelines for silk. Please refer to specific care instructions on each label.
